CROCHET PATTERN with FREE VIDEO TUTORIAL: Flipped Out Granny Square 12″ (30 cm)

The downloadable, printable pattern is available in my Etsy shop.

You’re going to love this pattern!

This pattern employs lots of color and enables you to stay in control of where your colors change! Colors are changed at the end of every round with a sturdy* fisherman’s knot (aka magic knot). This technique greatly reduces the number of yarn tails to be woven in at the end of the project. * In order to test the durability of these knots, this technique was tested in a separate dish scrubber pattern. After repeated, vigorous use over several months, the knots remained very much intact.

Corner joins and color changes take place at the same time.  Have you tried corner joins? You’ll like the way they produce an invisible seam!

Instructions include turning/flipping the piece as each new round is begun and working back in the other direction. This prevents swirling and keeps all the corners at a clean 90-degree angle.

Included in pattern is link to free YouTube video that demonstrates the entire process.

Materials: 2.2 oz (62 g / 115 yds / 105 m) of worsted-weight (#4) yarn. Colors pictured are:  A. Red Heart Classic Bright Violet, B. Red Heart Super Saver (RHSS) Light Periwinkle, C. RHSS Aruba Sea, D. Red Heart Soft Baby Steps Baby Green, E. RHSS Lemon, F. Vanna’s Choice Pink Grapefruit, and G. RHSS Shocking Pink.
