FREE PATTERN: Perky Posy 1- Flower Applique in #3 yarn

Six-Petal Flower Applique in Light Weight (#3) Yarn

Crochet pattern in US terminology by Cheryl Dee Floyd

The downloadable, printable, written pattern with lots of helpful photos, is available in my Etsy shop.

Make these quick and easy flowers as colorful embellishments for hats, scarves, curtains, gloves, tops, skirts, bags, wall décor, you name it.

Be sure to look for Perky Posy 2 – Flower in a Square, with two background square options…solid and granny. It’s worked in #4 yarn.

For this pattern, I used a self-striping yarn, cut the yarn at every color change, and wound separate balls for each color.

Color names given in the pattern are generic. Choose the order of your four preferred colors and assign them as A, B, C, and D.

Size. 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm).

Skill level. Easy.

Stitches and techniques. Slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, changing colors, needle join (aka invisible join), and working in joined rounds.

Tools. G-6 (4.25 mm) hook, scissors, and yarn needle. I used a Boye hook that I purchased at Joann Fabric and Crafts.

Yarn for one flower. Approximately 0.2 oz / 24 yds (6 g / 22 m) light weight (#3) yarn. In photo: Lion Brand Mandala in Gnome.

Gauge. Rounds 1 through 3 = 4” (10 cm) across.
