CROCHET PATTERN: Even Handed Granny Square 12-in (30 cm)

Ad-free, downloadable, printable pattern is available in my Etsy shop.

Do you like to use flowers and lots of colors in your projects? Learn a fun way to attach the optional flower after the square is completed. HINT! It’s NOT an applique!

Hate weaving in ends? This project demonstrates how to use the fishermen’s knot to change colors on every round, allowing you to manage the ends as you go.

How does one eliminate the “swirling” so typical in crochet squares? By flipping the piece over as each round is begun! This results in a perfectly aligned, “even-handed” square that requires very little blocking.

Another innovation in this patterns is starting each new round with a “stacked single crochet” stitch (UK stacked double crochet). This more closely resembles a double crochet (UK treble crochet) than a chain-3 does.

Pattern is 3 printable pages, with text and helpful photos. Appropriate for advanced beginners and intermediate crocheters.

Pattern is written in US terminology, with UK equivalents in parentheses.
